WRAP appoints Catherine David as CEO

Global environmental action NGO WRAP has appointed Catherine David as its new CEO after Harriet Lamb resigned in March.

David, WRAP’s current Director for Behaviour Change & Business Programmes, will begin the new role on 1 June.

Commenting on her appointment, Catherine David, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of CEO of WRAP.

“At WRAP, we are on a mission to embed circular living in every board room and every home, and it is a huge privilege to take on the job of leading the wonderful team as CEO.

“I look forward to working with WRAP’s partners and stakeholders across the world to take action, at a crucial time for our planet and for all of us who call it home.”

Harriet Lamb resigned as CEO of WRAP in March to become the CEO of the Green Party of England and Wales.

David joined WRAP in October 2021 following senior roles at The Fairtrade Foundation and Co-op. She is an expert in sustainability and ethical trade, particularly developing sustainable value chains and improving food and materials systems.

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) has congratulated David on her appointment.

Dan Cooke, CIWM’s Director of Policy, Communications and External Affairs, said: “Congratulations and a warm welcome to Catherine in this key role for our sector.

“WRAP will continue to help business, local authorities and households navigate the major changes, challenges and opportunities ahead for our sector at this pivotal time.”

David currently directs WRAP’s business collaboration work across multiple voluntary agreements including The UK Plastics Pact, The UK Food and Drink Pact and The UK Textiles Pact, as well as the organisation’s citizen behaviour change programmes Recycle Now and Love Food Hate Waste.
